On October 15, 2022, Working Women’s History Project, along with co-sponsoring organizations AAUW Chicago Branch, Ida’s Legacy, League of Women Voters Chicago, and Vivian G. Harsh Society, presented Media Matters: Chicago Women Journalists Working in Non-Traditional Media. 

Moderated by Maudlyne Ihejirika of the Chicago Sun-Times, the panel was composed of Monica Eng, of Axios Chicago; Shia Kapos, of Politico; and Samantha Smylie, of Chalkbeat Chicago. 

The women spoke of their experiences of having worked in traditional media and their current positions with newer media outlets. The panel discussion was followed by a question and answer period.
