On April 27, 1997, WLHP together with the Chicago Area Women’s History Conference and the Center for New Deal Studies, held a workshop at Roosevelt University on conducting oral histories.

Paul Buhle of Brown University spoke and Rima Schultz presented a special oral history award to Betty Balanoff, director of the Labor Oral History Project at Roosevelt University from 1971 – 1985.
